1 package macaroni & cheese
1/4 cup chopped onion or 1 tsp. onion powder or onion salt (if you use the onion salt do not add the regular salt also)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 lb. ground beef
2 cups tomato (I prefer tomato sauce but you can use what you have on hand.)
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. ketsup
1 green pepper chopped (optional)
Bring 4 cups water to a boil, add 1 tsp. oil to the water. After the water is boiling add the macaron. Reduce the heat so it maintains a steady boil and boil for about 5 minutes. While the macaroni is boiling brown the ground beef with the onion and green pepper. Once it is browned turn your burner to medium-low. Drain the macaroni, add it to the ground beef. Add the packet of cheese sauce, the tomato, salt, pepper. brown sugar, and ketsup. Bring the mixture to a simmer (low boil) stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes. Then turn your burner on low and leave it until you are ready to serve. If it looks like there is not enough liquid add a little water or tomato juice.
If you like you can place this in a crock pot on low and then serve it when you are ready or place it in the oven on 300° until ready to serve. Or you can serve it right away.
