Chocolate “Philly” Fudge

4 cups powdered sugar
1 8oz. cream cheese
4-1oz. squares unsweetened chocolate melted(If you use cocoa use 3/4cup plus 4 tablespoons melted shortening, butter or margarine.)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Soften the cream cheese by leaving sit at room temerature a couple hours or zap it in the microwave a few seconds. If you put it into your microwave be sure to remove the tin foil from it.

Gradually add sugar to the softened cream cheese. Mix until well blended. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Spread into a greased 8″ square pan. Chill several hours then cut into squares for serving.
